I really liked this image for the purpose of the complexity and pride that is seen in the piece. The piece was carved to memeriolize Naram Sins military victory and you can litterally see the pride on the faces of the men in the carving even though the faces are blank. I think what I enjoy the most about this piece is the memories it brings to my mind from doing martial arts and wrestling. There is an undiscrible sense of fulfillment when you have proven yourself more capable at that moment and time against an opponent. For me, this piece captures that feeling without even having faces carved on the figures.

If you think about it this piece is pretty much a trophy. Something to be displayed to show to others our achievement and pride in our accomplishment. The people of then are not much unlike the people of now. Religion, victories and families were all apart of daily life just as they are now. Great choice in art pieces. I really like this one.
